Living Word Missionary Baptist Church 8369 Princeton Road Liberty Township, Ohio 45044 Annual Youth Retreat Livingword Youth group began having our annual youth retreat in 2009.  Our first retreat was held at Winton Woods campgrounds.  Then in 2010, the Lord opened doors for us and we found Higher Ground conference center located in West Harrison Indiana (see our links page).  Our youth retreat went from two days the first time to four days the second trip and now we are blessed to spend an entire week together.   Our retreat is a direct vision of our youth leaders and their desire to see our youth grow spiritually.  We know we live in a world so fast paced, filled chaos, and designed to keep us busy.  Therefore we've set aside a block of time where our youth leaders and youth group get together to refocus and to learn more about Jesus and his will for our lives.  Our retreats are typically themed and are usually held during the summer months.  During our retreat we take the opportunity to separate ourselves from the daily "hustle and bustle" of everyday life.  We spend time focusing on the Lord and what he has for our lives spiritually.  We remove all distractions: no TV's, no radios, no IPod's, no computers, no video games and believe it or not, no cell phones.  We literally leave behind everything for the week.  What we do do for a whole week? There are youth lessons, bonfires, games, church services, singing, preaching, a whole lot of praying (by all those involved and our church), activities for team building, and oh yeah lots of food.  Our youth have the ability to build good Christian friendships, enjoy Christian fellowship and make unforgettable memories with one another.  These relationships are built on the Lord so they'll last.  Of course there are rules and guidelines set in place for all activities and the youth retreat in general.  Everything must be done in decency and order.  All items are discussed during our parent meeting held prior to our retreat.  For questions regarding our youth retreat, please feel free to contact our Youth Pastor or any one of our youth leaders. Just ask any of our youth and they will tell you it's a week they never want to leave.  The Lord's truly blessed us to see our youth saved by his wonderful grace, grow spiritually, and make those long lasting relationships.  True friends are those who have one common bond.
